Tabor Uth Youth Ministry here at Transfiguration has been undergoing many changes and challenges these past few months. We are currently forming a team of adult leaders to work as collaborators in youth ministry. As with all of us, we do not all relate to every child. Our youth need a variety of adults to show love and concern for them. Although we treat the youth as a singular group, there are many subcultures in the youth of today, and in order to touch their lives with the power of Holy Spirit, we must be able to communicate with them where they are. We urge all adults who have a place in their hearts for teens to pray and discern if our Lord is calling them to work with the youth of our community. Our mission has always been to love and support the young people of our parish and community. This is the 4th summer that 15 of us will be going to Steubenville, Atlanta. This is a High School Age Youth Conference put on by Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. This conference focuses on the spirituality of our youth and offers workshops on how to live a life of faith in today's world. We attend Mass and worship services. The youth have an opportunity to receive the sacrament of reconciliation. We also have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction. The youth of our parish also participate in the Annual March for Life in Washington D.C. on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. The youth who make the trip believe strongly that human life begins at conception and no one has the right to take another's life. We pray that our country will come to the realization that all life is precious and that all life should be protected by our constitution.
