Barreiro said he supported a pilot
project using Criminon as a faith-based program that has worked in
other states. He said he did not know whether Scientology's teachings
were part of the program, and the Legislature's staff did not analyze
whether Criminon was effective at rehabilitating prisoners.
"If a guy can become a Christian and
stay off drugs and not be a detriment to himself and his family, I
could care less what religion they pursue," Barreiro said. "I don't
care if they become Jewish or Baptist or Scientologist or whatever. I
only hope that person, when they come out of prison, won't commit
crimes that will hurt society."
He only hopes that whatever criminals do, they give him money.
In fact, he has accepted campaign donations from at least one
unindicted Snow White conspirator. Let's look at Mr. Barreiro's
campaign donations.
And then I'm just going to look for everyone in Clearwater, and
eyeball the rest briefly. So note that, I haven't even
exhaustively
searched this list, just the few names that jump out and scream
Scientology.
My God, it's full of Rondroids!
One thing you will note if you look at these carefully is that all the
donations are on the same day, or were at least reported on the same
day,
June 14, 2004.

And one name in particular shows up and in my opinion,
may explain the rest. That name is Mary Repper, the political
consultant
who arranges meetings between various political whores and Tom Cruise.
Let's take Mary Repper out of order, since in my opinion, the
coincidence
of the dates and the presence of Mary Repper indicates a high
possibility
that the donations were all taken at one time and place, perhaps at a
fundraiser engineered by Repper. While a blatantly illegal quid
pro quo
is a distant possibility, it is more likely that when the
Scientologists signed
the checks, they also touted the various social programs that Barreiro
has since supported, along with letting him know how nice it would be
if it just happened to turn out that he could support them. And
I'm sure
that future donations of this sort will keep flowing as long as Barreiro
keeps pushing Hubbard swindles.

Let's start with the worst of the lot, Brian Andrus, the unindicted
Snow White
coconspirator. His criminal activities during Snow White involved
kidnapping a
Federal witness and illegally holding him prisoner in an attempt to
obstruct
justice.
The man who kidnapped Michael Meisner and kept him prisoner for several
months,
Andrus was apparently hired by Miscavige in 1983, and spent the rest of
the 80s
at the Religious Technology Centre (RTC). Current location, alas,
unknown.
Thanks to the tireless research efforts of a.r.s. denizens, not to
mention a
serendipitous outbreak of scientology-affiliated business collapses,
Brian
Andrus must toil in anonymity no longer.
Unindicted kidnapper Andrus turns up as moderator of a
soon-to-be-infamous war
room meeting of TradeNet Incorporated, currently under investigation for
fraudulent business practices in Utah and Florida.
TradeNet, a pyramid-style MLM "distribution network" for the sadly
completely
ineffective Laundry Ball, brought in Andrus to act as moderator when
TradeNet
head honchos met in Clearwater to figure out how to defend the company
against
threatened class action lawsuits and possible criminal charges.
Although it is
not known what Andrus' involvement was with TradeNet before the dam
burst,
excerpts from the meeting, transcripts of which were subpoenaed by the
Florida
Attorney General, suggest that he was in close contact with Flag and
the local
OSA.
When he isn't terrorizing recalcitrant scientologists, Andrus seems to
be
employed as a 'consultant' to firms in the gas and oil industry,
including
British Petroleum, reported to have been one of the Admin Tech success
stories
touted by the CoS at this year's New Years Eve event.

One month after the First Circuit's decision in 1987, the Eighth
Circuit faced the same issue in Staples v. Commissioner.[86] The
Eighth Circuit held that payments made to the Church of Scientology
for auditing and training sessions are deductible as charitable
contributions within the meaning of § 170.[87] The Sixth and Second
Circuits joined the Eighth Circuit in 1988,[88] while the Fourth and
the Tenth Circuits lined up behind the First and the Ninth Circuits in
1987 and 1988, respectively.[89] The rulings for the taxpayer in the
Eighth, Second, and Sixth Circuits rested on statutory, not
constitutional grounds. The ultimate issue in dispute was whether §
170 of the Code encompassed fixed payments made to the Church of
Scientology for auditing and training sessions.

Is Shirley Coletti a Scientologist? I don't think so, and the
date is different
from the other donations, so I suspect she isn't associated with the
Repper
group. But she is, apparently, related to another cult, the
Straights.
In the early 1970s a remarkable woman from Pinellas County Florida
named Shirley
Coletti was so concerned that her teenage daughter was using drugs that
she
worked with James T. Russell, the county prosecutor, and Sheriff Don
Gedung to
found a juvenile drug rehabilitation program they called Parental
Awareness and
Responsibility or Operation PAR. Op PAR has become so successful that
in 2001
PAR sent a representative to the National Institute on Drug Abuse's
National
Conference on Drug Abuse Prevention. But Shirley Coletti did not
represent PAR
at the conference; a woman named Betty Sembler did. A few years after
PAR was
founded, Betty Sembler had been another Pinellas County mother
concerned that
one of her teenagers was into the drug scene. But she did not send him
to PAR;
she chose instead a controversial Fort Lauderdale-based therapeutic
community
called The Seed.
