Well, here is my Champions page. My players have been after me to run a Champions game weekly, and I have finally broken down to do it.
We will be using the new rules for the game, so we still have a few months before the actual start of the game. To begin with, we will be creating normal characters till I can learn the changes in the rules. I also want my players to create rounded characters, rather than just one sided heroes.
I have seen a few games where the players had to come up with normals first, then add powers to the characters. They were some of the best campaigns I have played in.
On these pages you will find information about my campaign. The campaign world I use is based loosely on the Marvel© universe with some DC© characters thrown in as well. You can find out about my version of history, on the site, as modified by having superheroes and supervillains around. One would think that having super powered individuals around would have a great impact on the world, but their history isn't too much different than ours. To find out more about this, visit the history page.
This site will also be used by my players to create their characters. I intend to have a copy of my character sheet available as a PDF to any who want it. Both an online version and a downloadable one. I am fairly picky when it comes to character balance, and all the characters, both player and non-player will meet these standards. I want well thought out characters, not just a combination of skills and powers. I have dealt with players before who just wanted to get the best advantage that they could. Fortunately I haven't encountered too many, but they are out there.
As I become familiar with the new rules, I will post equipment built with the rules as well as npcs that I have come up with. The equipment and characters will be built on the power level of the campaign, which as I have not yet seen the rules, is hard to set. My preference will be around a 250 point campaign, per the 3rd edition rules.
Any Marvel© or DC© characters will not necessarily follow the 250 point campaign rules, as I wish them to be as true to my interpretation of the original as I can. I know this could unbalance the campaign, but most of the Marvel and DC heroes that my players will meet on a regular basis, will be closer in power level to them.
I will post maps of areas of my world as well. They will probably be pdfs. As map making can be very time consuming, that area of the site will be the slowest to develop.
Finally, I will have a page of links to other Champions campaign sites and a special link, HeroNet. I am creating the site, HeroNet, as a kind of info gathering utility that the heroes and villains of my world can use to help them. HeroNet will be tailored more to an ingame experience than my site. About the only part of HeroNet that will not be a role-playing experience, will be the Resources section. I will use that for copyright information and utilities that I come up with that help me run my game.
