The Quarter Century Wireless Association (QCWA) was organized to promote friendship and cooperation among Amateur Radio operators who were licensed at least a quarter century ago. History The first organizational meeting of Chapter 195 of QCWA in Sun City Center was on November 8, 1995. Leo Witkowski (K1QPJ) and Lorraine Witkowski (WA1EDR) acted as co-chairmen. Twenty HAMS and six guests attended. The first official meeting was held on January 11th, 1996 with thirty two HAMs and six guests attending. Charter membership was left open for a short time to allow others who were not able to attend the first meeting to formally become members. Thirty five Charter members were submitted to QCWA National. On February 8, 1996 the QCWA Charter 195 was received. Meetings We meet two times during the year. The meetings are on the second Thursday of January and March. Our chapter publishes a small newsletter before the two scheduled meetings.
