Hughie Thomasson
Lead Guitar and vocals

Hughie sort of came with the place...from the Rogues, to The Four Letter Words to the Outlaws (same route taken by David Dix and Herb Pino), there was Hughie Thomasson on lead guitar.   Like several other Outlaws alumni, Hughie attended Tampa's Leto High School, but was playing rock and roll long before he ever got there, back at Oak Grove Jr High.  He's a play by ear guy...he heard it, he played it note for note.  Then he embellished the hell  out  of  it,  setting it on fire with the Hughie flame.

Hughie's been an Outlaw a long time.  In the days before GG&HT Hughie would dazzle folks with things like the Byrds "Eight Miles High".  The band, it the old days, used to do a kick-ass version of Neil Young's Cinnamon Girl  that woulda brought Neil himself to his knees.

What do you want me to say--the boy can play the guitar and get sounds out of it others never dreamed a guitar could make!  I think I've seen GG&HT played live over 2000 times...boy I miss the old Depot days when you could sit a foot in front of the band and watch every move, every note being played, up close and personal.
