Although the primary focus of this website is the period between 1966 and 1977, we've tried to provide a full listing of projects in which Outlaws members have participated. This listing does not include "bootlegs" of which there appear to be quite a few. If you know of any we have missed (or would like to submit a link to a BlackHawk discography) , please send the info along and we'll add it to the list.

Among cuts on this unreleased album were two songs written by Dick Holler (who wrote "Abraham, Martin & John) entitled "The Miami New Rock Revival" and "The Cookie Man". Also recorded in this session were Outlaws titles "The Rainbow Band" (O'Keefe/Pino) and "Kansas City Queen" (O'Keefe/Pino-later copyrighted by Hughie Thomasson) and a cover of Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl", a song the Outlaws were well known for in their local live performances.
Two accounts of the recording of this album appear in the "History" section of this website.

This lineup was also credited with a 1968 release on Aladin Records but that
is incorrect - see notes from Dave Dix. The book "Fuzz, Flowers and Acid:
American Garage, Psychedelic & Hippie Rock 1964-1975" describes The
Alan Franklin Explosion as follows:David Dix thought this review was quite amusing and sent these comments"A marginal case for inclusion here. Musically a hard rock/blues band from Orlando, Florida, with pretty wild vocals. The whole of Side 2 of their second album is taken up with Climax, an 18 minute 10 second drivin' instrumental hard rock rendition, which on the best scenario is reminiscent of the long instrumental jams of the San Francisco Ballrooms and at the worst monotonous."
on this recording:
"This was recorded in 1970 with Buzzy and Chris Russell. I am not sure
who is on the 1968 recording. The 1970 "project" (I use the term loosely)
was recorded in a studio somewhere in Orlando. It was never a real band.
Either Buzzy or Chris knew this guy Alan Franklin who had a bunch of tunes he
wanted to record. I was recruited to play drums and was about 18 or 19
at the time. Buzzy was approximately the same age as me so yes, we were both
young but the dates are accurate. We only got together for the one session
(and it came out sounding that way). The last time I saw Buzzy we both
had a good laugh over the whole thing."
Bootleg
Music (International SSS-22) 1971
Billy was a keyboard player in this band; Monte the drummer. Jan Pulver, who was a member of "Those Five" with Frank O'Keefe is also among the members of HY Sledge.
There are reports that neither Monte or Billy actually appear on this 1971 album and that the drums were actually recorded by David Dix. I'm awaiting a copy of the record now, as the "source" of this info has proven less than reliable in the past. Warning: this album is being sold by used dealers from prices ranging $25-$40 for a used copy.
See the "Monte Yoho's Personal Collection" under photo albums for a pic of H.Y. Sledge.
