Frank
I called our Safety Office as well as the
Safety Office at the Department of Highway
Safety and Motor Vehicles and it seems that
there is no published list anymore. Instead,
the helmets must meet certain standards.
The Department of Highway Safety and Motor
Vehicles has the Motorcycle Handbook online
and it states which standards must be met.
Their home page is at www.hsmv.state.fl.us
and the page with the helmet info is at

Thank you for visiting our site.

I am trying to find a list of approved headgear for motorcycle riders.
According to Florida Statute 316.211, "The department is authorized
to
approve protective headgear made to specifications drawn and devised
by,
or approved by, the American National Standards Institute, the United
States Department of Transportation, the United States Consumer
Products
Safety Commission, the United States Department of Defense, or any
other
entity which can provide equally effective equipment specifications.
The department shall publish lists of protective equipment, and
such
lists shall be made available by request to all users of such
equipment."
Can you provide me with this list or tell me where I may obtain this
list.
Thanks
Frank
