Note to Parents

We provide a snack twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon, because we understand that children do get hungry during the day.  But, parents are expected to send lunch with their child on a daily basis.

On an occasional field trip, your child has the option to buy lunch if you choose to send money with them.  The staff will let you know in advance if you have this option.  Also, we are going to continue with ‘Burger Day’ on Thursdays in cooperation with McDonald’s, Checkers and/or Taco Bell.  Parents must fill out an order form for their child a few days in advance and pre-pay the amount for the meal (the forms will be provided the beginning of each week).  On these days, if you have opted to participate in the ‘Burger Day’, you do not need to send lunch with your child.

Also, on a daily basis the children have an opportunity to buy freeze pops for $.25 each and soda for $.50 each.  If you would like your child to be able to buy these, please send them with money for that day.  (If your child does not have the money to buy these, they cannot borrow from another child – Please remind them of this.)

When we go to Fossil Park on Fridays, the children also have a chance to buy ice cream from the ‘Ice Cream Lady’ or snacks from the vending machine.  Once again, if you wish to send money with your child to allow them to buy these food items you may. One final note: Please try to send your child with a towel, sunscreen (if you prefer a certain brand), and a change of clothes if you think your child may need it. We have extra clothes for accidents that may occur but not enough for every child. You may also send anything else that you feel your child might need during the day such as water shoes for when we go swimming.

Please make sure that the child’s belongings are marked with their last name so that these items can be returned to their owner.

Thank you for your cooperation and attention on these matters!
