WORK EXPERIENCE:
    SCHOOL LIBRARY EXPERIENCE:
  • GRACE LUTHERAN SCHOOL:

    I spent the 2000-2001 school year on a one year only assignment at my church as the School Librarian. This part time job required me to be a classroom teacher as well as a media specialist. I taught library and research skills to eleven grade levels, ages 3 thru 13. I also helped implement a new internet connection and new library circulation software and designed an online academic portal for the school library. Grace Lutheran Library was my seventh media center. Grace Lutheran Church is affliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. .

    I have also managed six media centers for Pinellas County Schools over the past ten years.

    I have spent my summers working for businesses and at USF, learning to integrate technology into everything I do.

  • PINELLAS COUNTY SCHOOLS:

    I have also managed six media centers for Pinellas County Schools over the past thirteen years, including four school years as a Media Specialist for the Pinellas County School System , working in several school Library Information Centers as part time hourly, long term substitute and two additional years as a library paraprofessional.

    I also worked part time for Pinellas County Schools as a substitute Media Specialist and substitute teacher at all levels since 1988.

I have spent my summers working for businesses and at USF, learning to integrate technology into everything I do.

  • UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA:

    I worked Spring Semester 2000 as the Library Technical Assistant for Systems and Acquisitions at the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library at USF St. Petersburg. I maintained computer workstations,wrote webpages and did setup and installation of hardware and software, processed new books,helped with book orders and donations and our annual booksale. I also helped with circulation and special collections as needed.

    I also studied Library Science at the University of South Florida School of Library and Information Science, in the Master's program from 1991-2002. I was admitted to the University of South Florida College of Education Master's program for Instructional Technology.

  • TEMPORARY SUMMER JOBS:

    In the summer of 2002, I worked at home designing web pages for two local businesses. These pages are no longer online.

    In the summer of 2001, I was an Insurance Information Specialist working with the Insurance Inspection industry. My assignments have included preparing insurance inspection reports in a digital environment for National Service Bureau and Technifax.

    In the summer of 2000, I worked at USF through June and then started at Grace Lutheran in August, so I did not need a summer job.

    I spent summer 1999 working for Norrell and Office Specialists as a temporary office assistant. My first assignment was six weeks at AARP at the Koger Center, where I designed Access Databases, troubleshooted computers, and handled a variety of typing andmailing jobs. Then I spent fifteen weeks at Danka where I designed Excel spreadsheets,and Powerpoint organizational charts.
