Julia grew up at 73 Brown Street and moved to 426 Monroe Street after marrying John Phillip GANTZER in 1879.
Julia's husband John GANTZER had grown up at 22 Monroe Street in Buffalo, New York. John GANTZER was the son of a machinist named Xavier GANTZER and his wife was Barbara KIBLER GANTZER who lived at 22 Monroe Street. NOTE: More information about Brown St. and Monroe St. are on the Old East Side of Buffalo, New York.

Julia was 34 years old when she was widowed by the death of John Phillip GANTZER, who was also 34.
Julia remarried August Wilhelm Erhart KELLERMANN, her neighbor, in July 1894. August was the son of KELLERMANN of Coburg, Germany. After immigrating to America about 1893, August KELLERMANN resided at 432 Monroe with the KLEE family, next door to Julia's home at 426 Monroe, and across the street from the Westminister Settlement House which was located at 421 Monroe. August eventually worked at the lumberyard with Mr. KLEE, but was still a butcher at the time of his marriage to Julia. He may have had a job at the meat packing plant at Monroe and Beckinridge, a couple blocks from his home on Monroe St. He was working at Westminister House as a janitor at the time of his death at age 46 in 1912 from typhoid fever.
Julia and August had three KELLERMANN children:
Julia owned a business at 1423 Genessee St. that she sold in 1911. The business was the site of saloon and feed store in 1890 when operated by a previous owner, so it is possible Julia owned a similar business at that site. Julia would have been age 52 when she sold the business. Julia SCHAUF GANTZER KELLERMAN died of a stroke on May 19, 1912 when her youngest son was only 13 years old. August followed her in death only four months later on September 29, 1912 when he caught typhoid fever. August died at Deaconess Hospital. Their six children were the following ages in 1912: Mary Rose, age 30, John, age 28, Lucy, 24, Jule, age 17, Edward age 15, and Carl age 13. Julia and her husbands did not live to see any of their children married. The older children were left to take care of the younger children.

Jule KELLERMAN, age 7,
and Carl age 3, about 1902.- After remarryng, Julia gave birth again at age 35 to a daughter Julie Maria "Jule" KELLERMANN in 1895. Jule married O. Arthur TOALE and moved to Cambridge Ave.
Jule Toale retired to Deerfield Beach on the east coast of Florida where she died in the 1980s.
.
- Julia gave birth at age 38 to son Edward Joseph KELLERMAN on September 16, 1897. He was only 15 years old in 1912, the year both of his parents died. Edward married Florence Clair GREER on October 15, 1921 in Buffalo, Erie County, NY. He was 24 years old. Florence was born in Bradford, McKean County, Pennsylvania on December 8, 1899. She was almost 22 years old when they married.
Edward and Florence had two KELLERMAN children, Richard and Joyce. Florence died June 2, 1954 in Buffalo at the age of 54, leaving Edward a widower at age 57. Edward and Florence were married for 32 years. Edward KELLERMANN died twelve years later on November 27, 1966 at age 69.
- Julia gave birth at age 40 to her youngest son, my grandfather, Carl Wilhelm August KELLERMANN on March 19, 1899.
Carl married Bernardine VERSCH whom he met at her father's candy store and post office. Carl and Bernadine had three KELLERMANN daughters, Mildred "Millie", Lillian "Sis", and Alice KELLERMANN.
Julia Schauf Gantzer KELLERMANN'S youngest GANTZER daughter Lucy, almost 12, with three Kellermann children: Jule age 4, Edward age 2, and baby Carl or "Charles" (sometimes known as Sonny) about nine months old. The picture seems to date from around Christmas of 1899 and could be baby Carl's christening photo.
Carl KELLERMANN with Lillian (Sis), Alice, and Mildred (Millie) in about 1935. These granddaughters of Julia Schauf seem to be showing off new dresses while visiting their Aunt Bertha HERMMANN in Conneaught, Ohio. Julia did not live long enough to meet her grandchildren.
